Emirates' new champagne, coffee and salad offering – not necessarily in that order.
Sit back, sip Moet & Chandon’s and supper on especially matched canapes in Emirates' new-look business class lounge at Dubai International Airport.
The airline has spent $US11 million on a make-over of its Concourse B business class lounge.
The new look revolves around three new concept areas – think coffee, salad and champagne - or as Emirates puts it - a barista experience, health hub and champagne lounge.
The three new areas are linked into exclusive partnerships with Costa Coffee, Voss water and the airline’s 25-year partner, Moet & Chandon.
The Moet & Chandon champagne lounge features a chic bar with golden wave design adorned with 2400 intricate gold leaves, individually applied by hand.
The first-of-its-kind lounge serves Moet Imperial, Moet Rose Imperial, Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage and Moet Nectar Imprial.
Alongside the champagne are matching sweet and savoury canapes – envisage smoked salmon wrapped in nori with wasabi mayonnaise to complement the Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2006 and passion fruit and jasmine tea macaroons to be paired with Moet Nectar Imperial. The canape menu will change monthly.
The barista experience includes freshly-brewed beverages prepared by Costa Coffee baristas as well as pastries, provided round the clock.
For the health conscious traveller, Emirates has introduced the Health Hub with a new station offering a selection of fruit and water infusions, and a healthy menu of gourmet sandwiches, wraps, and salads.
The new offerings are in addition to the seven other locations within the lounge which has been expanded to accommodate 1,500 customers. The children’s play area with arcade quality games and Timeless Spa for hair, beauty and therapy treatments have both been renovated.
All food and beverages are complimentary for Emirates First Class and Business Class customers, as well as Emirates Skywards Platinum, Gold and Silver frequent flyer members.
Emirates also have plans to introduce a sports bar and a cocktail bar within its lounges. The Business Class lounge in concourse B is one of six Emirates lounges at the airport.
