Dubai's premium airport lounges are now available to all Emirates loyalty club members.
Members of Emirates' Skywards loyalty club can now pay a fee to access any of the lounges at Dubai International Airport regardless of their class of travel.
The airline has seven lounges spread over three concourses and eligible Skywards members can now enter the business-class lounge for US$100 ($130) or the first-class lounge for US$200 ($260). Business-class passengers can upgrade to first-class lounge access for an additional US$100. Fee-paying guests can stay for up to four hours.
There are plans to extend this pay-per-visit scheme to Emirates lounges at other airports.
Emirates recently spent US$11 million upgrading the Concourse B business-class lounge, which has a range of freshly prepared cuisine, a healthy food and drink hub, full bar service, Costa Coffee, a Moet and Chandon lounge, shower facilities, a health spa, a children's play area.
The first-class lounge has a cigar lounge, a la carte dining and a shoe-shining service.
